My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Missy is a lovable, sturdy chonk with a heart of gold. Fully house-trained and a sound sleeper (she snores!), she’s a gentle soul who adores people and gets along well with other dogs. Missy is a snuggle expert who’s always up for belly rubs, scratches, and cozy cuddle sessions—despite her size, she insists she’s a lap dog and loves nothing more than curling up with you!
She has a playful side, too—chasing tennis balls, tearing up soft chew toys, and playing tug of war and keep-away are some of her favorite pastimes. Missy could use a bit of leash training, as she tends to pull when she spots birds or squirrels (she’s a strong girl!). After a bit of walking, though, she settles in nicely.
Missy’s joyful spirit, loyalty, and love for companionship will bring so much warmth and happiness to her forever home.

The Adoption Center is open M,T,Th,Fr from 12-7pm and Saturday & Sunday from 12-5pm. The Shelter is closed to the public on Wednesdays.

The Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC), proudly operated by the Montgomery County Office of Animal Services, provides high-standard sheltering and care to the homeless, abused, and neglected animals in Montgomery County and ensures the safety and welfare of the county’s citizens.

The Center’s doors are open to all animals in need from: dogs and cats to farm animals, wildlife, and exotics. Trained staff provide animals with daily care, mental and physical enrichment, health and wellness checks, and more. Through adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, vaccination clinics, education and outreach, the Center serves as a critical community resource to promote and advocate for responsible pet care. With community support and partnerships with other animal-welfare groups, our Foster, Rescue and Volunteer programs enhance and save the lives of even more homeless animals.
