Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Our Willow is a stunning beauty who needs a patient rescue dog enthusiast to help build her confidence. She is an older puppy who came to us from a North Carolina shelter where she spent some time before transferring to our Connecticut rescue.
Willow is a shy girl and at just one year old, she is clearly a dud Hunting Dog! This timid and gentle soul bristles at the sound of gunshot, fireworks and thunderstorms, but thrives on gentle human touch and affection. While Willow seems shy at first, she opens up easily once the human love starts flowing. She is extremely affectionate, and would make an outstanding family dog. Willow loves people and could easily live happily with older kids.
Willow is a petite dog at just 35 pounds and appears to be an Bluetick Coonhound. She is active, but does not have an over-the-top energy level. She requires a couple of leisurely, "smell the roses" daily walks, but then is content to rest or take a nap. She would do well in a family setting, or with a single, or retired folks. Willow will be happy as long as she is loved.
Willow loves other dogs and has become a superstar in our Hound playgroup. She easily could join a multi-dog home with other friendly dogs, but we have not had her around cats.
As a Scent Hound, Willow’s instincts are a mixed bag of “nosey” attributes. Her ideal adopter would be an active single or couple, who can include WIllow on hikes, runs, or walks, camping, or any kind of outdoors activity that will challenge mind and body.
Willow has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to a new home. She has been spayed, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings.
If you are interested WIllow, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call or text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.
