**About Maji:**
Thank you for interested in adopting Maji. Please know that Maji is an international rescue through South Korea. When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, ONT, IAH, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works.
Maji’s Rescue Story:
Maji was discovered on the street, limping on her leg. When we took her to the vet, we learned she had previously undergone leg surgery. It seemed her owner had abandoned her because caring for her post-surgery became too burdensome. Unfortunately, while she was on the streets, she was hit by a car again. Currently, Maji is in foster care, receiving plenty of love and attention. Despite not being able to use her front right leg, she walks and runs just like other dogs. The vet advised against amputating her leg as it does not impact her overall health.
Personality and Temperament:
Maji is a calm and gentle dog who absolutely loves people. She gets very excited when people greet her on walks. Despite being left alone for long periods, she does not create any mess at home. Maji generally gets along well with other dogs. Occasionally, she may bark at small dogs when she first meets them, but she calms down quickly once they are introduced. She is currently being trained to sit and wait calmly instead of barking.
Experience with Children: Maji has no experience living with children, and she shows little interest in children she encounters on walks.
Experience with Cats: Maji is curious about cats she sees during walks. While her previous foster home had a cat, she showed little interest in it and was not aggressive.
Car Rides: Maji does not get car sick but may whine if placed in a crate in the back seat. She is quiet when the crate is placed in the front seat.
House Training: Maji prefers to go potty outside but is very good at using a pee pad indoors.
Behavior When Alone: Maji is well-behaved when left alone. She does not bark or whine and enjoys sleeping on a blanket.
Guarding Behavior: Maji does not guard her food or toys from people. She may show interest in toys that other dogs are playing with, but she does not exhibit aggressive behavior.
Leash Training: Maji walks calmly on a leash without pulling. She follows where you lead and enjoys her walks.
Commands Maji Knows: Sit. No. Come here. Go there (with pointing)

More about this rescue
We are a small group of pet rescuers in CA and WA/OR from Taiwan.
We rescue dogs and cats that needs help around us.
Save a life don't need a reason, it's just a beautiful things that everyone should do.
Seeing those once starved,
maltreated and homeless dogs transforming into confident, lively fur babies is what propels us. Finding a loving, forever home for the rescued dogs has been our ultimate goal.
---
For over 10 years, our foundation has been providing rescue dogs for international adoption to families in cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Vancouver. After the application and approval process, we fly the dogs with volunteers to the desired destination for the completion of your adoption.
Formosa Mountain Dog (FMD) is a type of Taiwanese mixed breed. Most of it is Labrador or shepherd and Taiwan dog mixd breed. The rescues are usually abandoned, abused, and/or without a home. We take them in, provide them with a complete health check up, and spay and neuter as needed. Their information is then posted on our websites and social media, ready to be adopted.
You will see that most of our dogs are still in Taiwan. Only a few are local. The process of adoption takes careful consideration of the application and understanding of the environment to which we will send the adoptees. Currently, we do not have enough foster homes for an intermediary home, so we have to make sure there is a home for the rescues before we send them overseas.
As the dogs await their forever homes, we will continuously update their growth through photos and videos. This helps to provide the adopting families with more understanding of the temperament of the dogs to be ready for their adoption. Finally, after 14 hours of air travel, with the aid of our volunteers, the adopting family (you) will just need to arrive at the airport to meet your new family member!
