How Susie arrived:
Susie was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on 4/19/24.
At SDHS:
Susie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Susie is now ready for her new home!
Why this pet is the one for you:
We'd like to introduce you to Susie. We are so proud of this girl! When she first came into our care, she was extremely fearful. She was too scared to venture out of her kennel and needed a lot of treats and reassurance (which we were all too happy to provide). We gave this sensitive soul the time she needed to develop trust and start to feel safe with us. And she has come so far! Though Susie still struggles with shyness and will need your help and support when encountering new people and environments (making sure to take things slowly and giving her the time and space she needs to adjust), we just know she is going to make a wonderful and loyal companion. Once she feels comfortable, Susie forms deep bonds and shows her affection through gentle nudges and gently taking treats. She will benefit greatly from continued positive reinforcement training to help her continue to develop her leash-walking skills, and a quiet home where any outside access is secure and escape-proof would be best.
