Meet Lola! *Available for placement after July 25th*

Lola and her sister Lana (as well as their mama Lucy) have had such a hard start to life. The Puerto Rico Dog Fund (PRDF) received a call from a concerned citizen when they saw the puppies suspended in a cage in a tree without food or water, in the hot Puerto Rican sun. Imagine.... :(

We intervened with the authorities in tow, and rescued these two babies and their mama. Miss Lola is very shy and scared, so she needs some time with us to understand that not all humans are cruel. She has been placed with a loving foster, whom is already making quick progress with her and we expect that she'll be a wonderful addition to your family. However, because of her small size (5.4 lbs at her vet visit and estimated to be 3 months old) and timid behavior, we are looking to place Lola in a home without young children so she can continue to grow her confidence without sudden noises or touch. She melts into you once you have her trust, but she is still wary of new humans. We hope to change that soon! Look at her striped tail and beautiful mask - quite the looker. :)

Because both girls need to finish their vetting and ensure they are healthy for flying, they will not be available for placement until July 25th. However, we are expecting many applications and hope to have their home chosen before that date so they can skip the stateside fostering and go right into their forever homes.
