Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello everyone, my name is Faye. I am looking for the perfect family. I came to Stray Haven in hopes that I would be able to make that happen. I am looking for a family that likes to go on hikes and be active. I am part hound, so I enjoy smelling all the smells around me. If you think you are the right family for me, please stop in and meet me.
........ UPDATE from one of our volunteers after spending some extended time with Faye.
"Faye slept all the way back to Stray Haven which she calls her temporary home. I think I can speak for Faye that she had a great time in her short stay with me and proved herself very ready for a permanent home.
She went potty only outside except for a few tinkles when she got excited. She did not have free run of my house though, we worked on a win-win for both of us.
She met a total of 5 new dog friends and was excited and playful with all of them. Bella, my 8yr old, did get a little grumpy with her puppiness and Faye learned to respect her elders. Her real BFF is Jeremiah and she outplayed him but they had loads of fun.
She loves chasing balls and squeaky toys. Jeremiah isn't great about letting others get to the ball first but she kept up the game and outran him a couple of times. She doesn't bring the ball back but will let anyone take it out of her mouth for the next throw.
She spent some time chilling in a crate and slept all night in the crate without a peep. She is hesitant about going in the crate but quickly learns that good things happen in there like breakfast, dinner, and treats.
She does do a lot of pulling on a leash, I'm thinking a harness might work better for her. She's young and treat motivated so with some additional training she will get better.
Faye gets very excited when meeting people and will jump, and if really excited she will give nips to your arm or sleeve. She got much better at this in the short time with me. She does know how to sit and if the person is consistent in not petting or giving attention until all 4 are on the ground she gets it.
She loves loves loves people of all ages. She met children between ages 9-16 while here and loved everybody. She likes hugs and kisses and likes to give them back.
We were all a bit sad that she was returning to the shelter but Jeremiah gave her a pep talk and explained that he had to wait many months for his forever home but it was worth the wait. Her perfect home is out there waiting to discover her.
