Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Beaver is available for viewing at Cascade Animal Medical Center.
So, um. Yeah. I know it might be too early to mention this, but my name is Beaver, as in the Beaver Moon. That’s the full moon that happens in November. Know how it got its name? November is a time of transition in nature, even for animals like beavers. “Wood” you believe it? Critters gotta purr-pare for winter. I’m a black and white male kitten who’s 6 months old. I’m one of four kittens born to a mama named Flower Moon. She was found as a stray in Lanesboro, and two weeks later, on March 31, we were born in a foster home. I’m a very sweet boy with white mittens and socks. I’m not extremely outgoing with people, but I like being petted. One day, my foster mom saw me run smack into the cat tower. The shelter vet examined me, and sure ‘nuf, I have some vision problems; I have no blink reflex. He says I may need to see an ophthalmologist. Despite my vision deficit, I try so hard to keep up with my siblings as we race about creating havoc. It`s so much fun! Leave it to Beaver to be a go-getter, but you’ll want to keep an eye on me. I can’t wait to be the bright, shiny moon in your lodge.
Adoption fee $150 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Paws and Claws Humane Society (PCHS) is a non-profit, mostly volunteer organization that rescues and shelters homeless cats and dogs until they can be adopted into their “forever” homes. We want our clients to understand that adopting and animal is a lifetime responsibility and commitment to that animal.
All prospective adopters must show (at the time of adoption) a valid drivers license or other acceptable identification to verify their name, address, and age. Adopters must be 18 yrs of age. Children under the age of 12 years old need to be present at time of viewing shelter cats or dogs.
After submitting an application, there is generally a processing period of 1-3 days in order to complete all pre-adoption checks and paperwork before an adopter may take possession of the animal.

Paws and Claws Humane Society is committed to partnering with the community to shelter, protect, and seek adoptive homes for abandoned or lost companion animals.
We have served Southern Minnesota for over 30 years and we are the largest shelter in the 8 surrounding counties that does not limit the length of stay for the animals in its care.
Paws & Claws is funded completely on donations and fundraising events and receives no federal, state, county or city funds. We currently have nearly 900 dues paying members.
Paws & Claws has a community fund to help pay for the spaying and neutering of companion animals for those who cannot afford it.
We give over 40 tours and presentations annually, educating the public [including over 400 children] about proper animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals to help control the pet population in Southern Minnesota.
We have over 110 families that participate in the Guardian Angel Program [sponsoring animals] each month.
Paws & Claws will take in an injured animal and get the emergency medical care that it requires.
Local veterinarians in and around Rochester help Paws & Claws by providing over 145 free spay or neuters each year.
In a typical year the shelter will facilitate adoptions and provide care for over 600 dogs and cats.
