Currently Living at: DC area foster home
All about Estella:
Estella arrived into our care in 2020 and was adopted out quickly. For the past four years she has been thriving in a loving home. Through no fault of her own, she now needs a new home.
Her previous humans told us all about how wonderful she is. She likes other dogs, cats, and kids! At home, she lived with a small dog and they got along very well. She is great at dog parks - she joins in when games and play are well-behaved but backs off when things get chaotic. She has lived with cats - she'd love to be friends and snuggle but respects the cat's space when it isn't interested. And she has been amazing with the children of all ages in her home. She's been very loving with them, responding well to affection and dialogue.
She's generally good in the home. The crate isn't her favorite place but she doesn't object - she just goes in and sleeps. Out of the home, you really wouldn't guess she's in her senior years. Walks plus the play at dog parks burns off that awesome dog energy and keeps her happy.
Most of all, though, she is all about her humans. Being safe and loved and under her own roof is her top priority. She promises loyal companionship for all her days in return. What do you say? Are you Estella's soft landing and fresh start? Is she your new walking buddy?
What My Foster Says About Me: Estella is such a sweetheart! She walks nicely on a leash and loves to roll in the grass. At home, she likes to get comfy and have a good nap with occasional breaks for playtime. At night, she sleeps well either in her crate or on the bed. She gets really excited when I pick up her leash to go on a walk, so we've been working on her sitting to wait for me to put the leash on which is working well! She is very smart and knows sit, down, stay, and come. She will be a great addition to her forever family!!
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
