Blueberry sadly found herself a victim of backyard breeding in Bakersfield. Only to be dumped in the Bakersfield shelter after breeders got babies for her for profit. Unfortunately, she was in horrific shape when rescued. Her skin achy from long term allergies that were never addressed by her breeder, her ear canals were stenotic. No microchip, was obviously not spayed. So all that changed when she came to rescue. Shes now living an incredible life in foster care where she has a healthy diet (and no longer eating the equivalent of "McDonalds" type food everyday), shes received proper vet care, including allergy cytopoint injection and shes been having medicated baths 2x week. Shes already made amazing medical improvement in such a short time. Her hair has grown back, her demeanor is now so outgoing. Shes awesome! We have implanted an AKC microchip in her and we have socialized her with other dogs. She would make a great companion for anyone. Blueberry is all around grateful for love and affection. If you are interested to foster her while she's recovering with the intent to adopt, she would love to form a bond with you during her recovery process (of which the rescue will pay for her medical while being fostered). Frenchie N Friends & Save A Bow Wow is a small dog rescue based out of Southern California. We pull dogs from our local humane societies in Los Angeles & Orange County. We are not an animal shelter and do not have a physical location. We do take in a lot of owner surrendered dogs. Save A Bow Wow & Frenchie N Friends strongly believes in pets being spayed or neutered. Therefore, we offer financial assistance and/or referrals to low cost spay & neuter clinics. No dog will be adopted from Save A Bow Wow & Frenchie N Friends before he/she has been altered.
As we are a 100% volunteer organization, if you wish to join our team, please let us know! We are dedicated to rescuing, caring for and placing homeless dogs in a forever home
All dogs we adopt out require an adoption donation. This donation includes spay or neuter, vaccinations, collar, ID tag & a microchip. We have each of our dogs in to the vet prior to completing an adoption. If additional services were needed, we took care of it!... (Such as grooming, applying flea preventative, deworming etc.)
