Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Maddox is a 5-year-old mixed breed snuggle bug. He's a wiggle worm who loves scratches, but he also appreciates time to himself, happily relaxing in his back yard without making a fuss. He gets along well with most dogs and currently lives with a female dog, but benefits from proper introductions to smaller and more submissive dogs. Maddox also lives with a cat.
Maddox seems to like both men and women. As is often the case with working dog blood in the veins, Maddox can be a vocal boy who will let you know when he needs your attention and will tell you when there's someone passing by the house. Because he has had a negative interaction with the family's toddler, he should go to a home with dog-savvy kids over the age of twelve, and proper intros with kids are encouraged -- which should be the case for any dog!
He is a great play companion and enjoys toys and games of fetch, and enjoys leash walks. This sweet boy deserves a family who will take the time to appreciate and love him.
He's housetrained and up to date on his doggie shots and veterinary care.
For more info and/or to apply to adopt Maddox, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.

If everyone agrees this is a good match, the board approves the adoption.

Additional adoption info
First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.
We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
