Couch potatoes of the world-look no further because your new binge-watching buddy has arrived. Charcoal is a petite and exceptional girl who's condition makes her an ideal snuggle buddy. Charcoal is a CH* cat who needs an understanding family that will work with our organization to ensure she is set up for success. If you ever need a Halloween soundtrack-she has a built in scary cat sound that goes off when she feels threatened (she's all talk). She does best without other cats-but may do well with 1-2 others who ignore/avoid her. Learn more about her special needs below.
Special Needs: Charcoal has *cerebral hypoplasia (CH). CH is caused by being exposed to panleukopenia in the womb. CH is not contagious and is a lifelong condition that affects fine motor skills. Charcoal can walk 2-3 feet at a time before losing her balance, cannot climb, and has difficulty getting into a litter box (of any height). She is a happy, affectionate, and petite girl who would benefit from reusable potty pads and short, cozy caves she can lounge in. We are happy to share detailed day to day information about her needs and are open to foster to adopt/open adoption where we continue to work with you on helping her succeed with your family. Charcoal would prefer teens/adults only, someone who understands accidents happen, small dogs, and can be an only cat.

More about this rescue
We work hard to educate the community about why spaying and neutering is important. We only take cats that are non adoptable in shelters which includes feral, abused, abandoned, and traumatized cats and kittens. We heal them inside and out using positive reinforcement and force free techniques. Last, we provide assistance to low income families to help them fix their pets, provide food to feral cat colony managers, and sponsor adoption fees for those who need a pet and can afford their care but not an additional fee.
