My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Stu and Sissie! This bonded pair came to us because their previous owner could no longer care for them. Both are initially shy around new faces, but treats work wonders to help them warm up and let their true personalities shine!

Sissie is a "Bug" (Boston Terrier & Pug mix), and Stu is a pure Pug. Stu is the more reserved of the two, relying on Sissie for comfort and stability. They are very bonded and must be adopted together. Their previous owner mentioned Stu isn't a fan of other dogs due to a traumatic incident as a puppy. While they've been getting along well here, an ideal home would be one where it’s just the two of them.

Sissie has long legs, a unique brindle coat, and loves to follow her person once she feels a connection. Stu, her loyal shadow, is always a few steps behind, balancing her outgoing nature with his calm demeanor. They would thrive in a quiet home where they can decompress and reveal their true selves. A household without small children would be best.

Two dogs are definitely better than one, and these two are inseparable best friends! If you have room in your home and heart for a pair deserving a second chance, please inquire today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
