My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~

Health: Selena is currently battling congestive heart failure, with excess fluid accumulating around her heart and an enlarged heart. Despite her condition, she is managing her symptoms with medication effectively. Surprisingly, Selena appears to be in good health and doesn't show any signs of illness. ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam *****

Temperament:  Meet Selena, the sweet and easy-going pup who is as lovable as they come! Selena is the definition of "pretty vanilla" - she's simple, easy, and an absolute joy to have around. She walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides, and is pretty quiet with an even temperament. This low-key girl has no bad habits and is a great companion for anyone looking for a calm and loving furry friend. She loves her food and is housebroken, although she may need to go out often due to her medications. Selena gets along well with other dogs and her favorite pastime is simply laying wherever she pleases, sometimes right behind you! Just watch out for her, as she can be a bit of a tripping hazard, albeit a cute one! While Selena's temperament makes her a great candidate for an elderly owner, her habit of being underfoot might pose a slight challenge. But with her loving nature and easy demeanor, Selena is sure to bring joy and companionship to any home lucky enough to have her.   --

Where did she come from:  She was an unclaimed stray at the Fort Worth Animal Shelter

Additional adoption info

Please allow up to 72 hours for a response.

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!
