Only completed applications that meet requirements will be reviewed. Since we are 100% foster-based rescue, only approved applications will be contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. Aston is being fostered in Maryville, IL. You must live within 350 miles & able to drive for a meet & greet/adoption.
We got a call from a shelter who had received this sweet little guy. He was surrendered after being bounced from two different families who were unable to provide a stable home for him. He is now UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and on heartworm/flea preventative. He is as healthy as a puppy should be & ready to find his furever family.
Aston is doing well on leash training but he does love to run in the secure physical fenced yard with his other foster friends. If you have a fence, it needs to be completely secure & enclosed, no gaps. If you do not have a fence, he will need play time at the dog park or several walks a day. NEVER EVER should he be outside off his harness and leash when not in the fenced area, NEVER.
Aston has had tons of fun in his foster home. He plays with the resident dogs, his best friend being a tiny Cavapoo! It was clear to us that Aston had not had much opportunity to explore & socialize with other animals before coming to us. We have been able to provide ample opportunity for that while in foster care. It is vitally important for puppies to have this experience when they are young, as it sets the stage for their ability to properly respond and interact as they grow older. His foster mom has been taking him to work with her everyday. She says he is just the best and lays on his blanket and sleeps while she works.
We are working on potty training. We have been amazed at how quickly Aston caught on to routine & he has not had any accidents since moving into his foster home. Remember, in a new home, a new environment means that new habits will have to be established. Please be prepared to set him up for success by getting a schedule in place. Always praise your puppy when they meet your expectations.
Bringing home a new puppy is a huge responsibility that requires oodles of time! But it is very rewarding if everyone is invested. Please apply if you meet the requirements & would like to adopt a sweet energetic puppy. Please don’t apply without speaking to your spouse/partner first.
