Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“LULU” is a friendly, sociable, red with white markings, AKC Miniature Poodle who was born April 26, 2017. She weighs a healthy 21 pounds and measures 16 inches from the floor to her withers.
She comes to us from a Minnesota breeder who is retiring. Special thank you to this breeder as she was willing to wait until the tax season ended (April 15th) for me so we could start accepting some of her adult Poodles. She also wanted the best homes for her Poodles as they enter their “retirement” years.
Lulu was scared out of her mind the first few days with us. But she quickly became the sociable and loving Poodle as she had been a house dog before being sold to a kennel. She has also been a perfect girl in our home (housetrained). This is such a very smart and good girl too!
Sit down then watch as Lulu will jump into your lap and snuggle with you. As pictured, she greatly enjoying visiting with our granddaugher who had just finished her recent softball game in Becker.
Lulu follows us around our entire home while being a part of our family. She is also allowed to run freely in our home while we are home. I’ve even found her in our bedroom on our bed while enjoying looking at herself in the mirror saying... "Look at me! I'm so cute!".
Lulu also likes to help me make the bed and fold the laundry. I suspect she’d like to sleep in bed with people too. When we are gone and at night, she is kenneled (like all our Poodles are) which she has no problem with.
Lulu is a soft, gentle, easy-going girl who just loves men as well as women. She will come when she is called, will bark when someone comes to the door, she enjoys going for a short walk, but also likes to sit on the chair while watching you and all that is going on around her.
While Lulu has been around other dogs all her life, she would be willing to accept living with another family dog. But she would be just fine by herself as she considers herself a member of a family and NOT a dog.
*A SECURLY FENCED YARD WILL BE REQUIRED as she has been a kennel dog and not trained to relieve herself on a leash.
*You must be physically able to handle a large Miniature Poodle.
*Preference will be given to a quiet family with past Poodle experience.
*Easy going, gentle dogs are fine.
BUT PLEASE:
*NO puppies or cats.
*NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare her and me).
*NO young children.
*Like most all rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota.
Lulu had been spayed. Then a few weeks later at her dental appointment, she had 22 of her rotting teeth removed. Ouch. It was a difficult and long surgery, but she did just fine. Now she is feeling a LOT better and is eating a hard kibble, so no need for soften dog food.
She is up to date on her vaccinations, worming, has been heartworm / lymes / ehrlich / anaplas (4DX) tested negative, placed on a heartworm preventative, and Home Again microchipped.
As with all the other Poodles we have adopted, Lulu’s adoption fee is 1 million, trillion, zillion dollars.
However, for the right family her adoption fee is $450.00 which includes $31.00 for our 7.375% Minnesota state sales tax. This fee helps to pay for some of her extensive vet work.
Also included is her leash, collar, a bag of quality dog food, a 10-gallon dog food container, treats, dog toys in a cute toy box, a new blanket, a dog bed along with her kennel and lots of good information to help your Poodle adoption move forward on the right paw!
Lulu is a very nice, loving Miniature Poodle girl who deserves a good and loving home for her “retirement”. For more pictures, information and our required "Adoption Application", please visit our website: https://picketspoodles.com/
