My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kinzie is a very pretty, dark brown 3 year old tabby. She is almost black. She has a good appetite and is very playful and alert. Kinzie is ready for adoption into a loving and caring home. She needs someone who is caring, understanding, and willing to love her with only one kidney and give her a chance at a very long, loving life. She needs someone to continue to give her a chance to live having only one good kidney left. She gets along and plays with other cats and toys. She is curious and will follow you to see what you`re up to. She will suckle your shirt and make biscuits. She eats dry and wet food and has a healthy appetite. Her fur is very silky soft, wonderful to touch. I would prefer her to have a companion and not be alone. I would like her to be with another companion. She has been strictly indoor only.

On November 22, 2021, had the left kidney removed due to a congenital condition and was spayed at BARC. The left kidney was thin, irregularly shaped, and severely distended. It was also adhering to her spleen and omentum and other viscera. Her right kidney, and ureter (tube to bladder), and adrenal glands are normal. She has healed and recovered from two surgeries. She was adopted, but her previous owner could no longer keep her.

She is ready for her furever home. If you are interested, please contact the Houston Humane Society.
