Meet Benji!

If you are looking to adopt a 'cool' dude this boy is the coolest of them all!

Benji is a young adult dog rescued as a puppy from the dumpfill in Ensenada, Mexico when he was just a couple of months old. He had been fostered in Baja sadly just lingering in the foster system and now he is a full grown adult. Well, still a HUGE puppy at heart and we LOVE him for that.

As of 10/15/24 Benji is fostered at casa de ARWOB where he shares the home with other foster dogs like his BFF Mocha, Cici, Ricky, Lucy and little dude Spector. He also is good friends with felines Chester, Neeko and Newt also available for adoption. As of 11/19/24 Benji is already full grown at 38 pounds and approx 1.5yr old. Benji is a tallish and lean labrador/shepherd mix looking dog BUT realistically he is a HUGE super mutt and we do not know his breeds. We just know he is a perfect medium size dog who is knee high and lean a perfect dog for a home with a yard or a downtown apartment. He is a silly goose who ADORES dog friends of all sex, sizes and breeds. He is also amazing with humans, although he can be shy when he first meets them. For example earlier in the month there were roofers in the neighbors home and although some dogs would bark on a 'stranger danger' reaction Benji is the type that said, yeah, i do NOT need to go out there, I am just going to be quiet and observe the strange humans while sticking to his foster mom side, pretty endering reaction.

Benji is pretty loving to the humans, also volunteers at events even if he has never met them you just need to say hi first to him and let him acclimate for a few minutes to know you are a friend and not foe. If we had to describe Benjis personality would be that of a happy go lucky attitude with a goofy innocent energy and lovely social funny attitude.

Benji pees like a girl, alwasy squats to pee so no leg lifting for this dude and is fanstastic in the crate. He is house and potty trained as long as he has access to the yard or is taken outside frequently (not as frequent as a puppy of course) and he loves toys, ANY and all toys. He is a great dog park dog and enjoys them 3-4 times a week with his fellow arwob foster dogs. He likes to stand in the back seat looking out the window for some wind action :)

To adopt, foster or even request a foster to adopt trial with this handsome dude please submit an application online at ARWOB.org for his foster to contact you and schedule a meet and greet. Also take a look at his adorable videos on his bio at ARWOB.org

More about this rescue

The A.R.W.O.B. group is based in San Diego, CA and operates mostly in Mexico as well as Southern California and will come to the aid of any animal in need which crosses our path. Our belief is to do what we can in order to “Make a difference in their lives.” From experience we have observed and feel the companion animals of Mexico are in the greatest need and accordingly we focus much of our efforts in Baja, Mexico. However, we certainly extend our help to our north of the border critters by accepting relinquished family pets, exiting both dogs and cats from the shelters of San Diego and of course by working in conjunction with other animal rescue groups in the community
