My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Austin is a gentle and sweet male who loves affection and is always up for some fun with a water hose or his favorite toys. He's dog-social, playful, and has the perfect balance of medium-to-high energy, making him a great hiking buddy and cuddle companion. Austin is also potty trained and does wonderfully with cats, making him an ideal fit for a multi-pet household. If you're looking for a friendly, active, and affectionate companion, Austin is ready to bring lots of love into your home!

More about this rescue

Paws For Life K9 Rescue pulls its dogs from city and county shelters. Often, we choose dogs in need of socialization and training which we place with our incarcerated trainers throughout California State Prisons.
We do this because they can dedicate all of their time to their rehabilitation. After several months of training, our dogs are ready for family life after completing their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification. Some are trained to become service animals for military veterans with PTSD. By lowering euthanasia rates and preparing dogs for service-jobs, PFL is proving that everyone deserves a second chance.
