Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Diamond is a precious gem of a cat looking for a special home. She is SPECIAL NEEDS and is 17 months old (born in November 2004), but in her short life she's been through a lot. She got mastitis (mammary gland infection) after her first litter of kittens when she was only 8 months old in which it wasn't treated by her original owner until we took her in. We were told by a vet that had she had another litter, it probably would've killed her. So we had her spayed to prevent that, updated her shots, and tested her for FIV/Flk, in which both were negative. After she recovered, she was adopted, but started showing signs of aggressive behavior. She was returned to us, but shows NO signs of the aggressiveness the previous home said she was capable of.
She is a SPECIAL NEEDS cat due to the amount of trauma she has endured in her short life. She needs to find a home where she is the only female cat in the house. She tolerates male cats and most dogs if they don't bother or chase her. She needs her own food bowl. A single lady would be the ideal home for her. She is very vocal as is her breed, an Oriental Shorthair. She is VERY loving, but due to the way she was previously handled, only takes so much petting. She will let you know if she's had enough by either laying her ears back or letting out a low growl. She needs a person who knows how to "read" a cat's behavior, so previous experience with cats is a must. She hasn't bitten any GHP representative since her return and we want to make a new family aware that she may be wary of men and children. She needs TLC and reassurance that she will never be struck again, only loved, as she showed signs of being hand shy until a week after she came back to us. She is tempermental, but is NOT mean or aggressive. She was declawed on her front feet and doesn't like her feet played with.
For more information about Diamond or any other GHP cat, please email or call us (if you email us please expect a delay in getting back to you). Diamond MUST be kept in-doors AT ALL TIMES.... or allowed outside supervised WITH a leash and harness on (also could have a cat-proof fenced yard). Adoption includes an application, house-visit, contract, and fee. We offer a reduced adoption fee if 2 cats and/or kittens are adopted by the same family. By signing our contract, adoptees agree to return their kitties to GHP if for any reason they can't be kept any longer. People within a 50 mile radius of Colorado Springs get adoption priority due to transportation restrictions unless I can find someone to do out-of-town adoptions (this is pending). NOTE: If you are interested in becoming a volunteer to do home visits in the Denver area please let me know ASAP! Diamond would love to have a forever home.
