Hi, my name is Chewy and I am a senior Shih Tzu, almost 9 years old, 13 lbs and I have a sweet disposition and a little underbite. I am friendly and get along great with people and other dogs, and although I am not really playful with my doggy friends, I enjoy their company. I am more of a lap dog, loving pets and rubs, and when not in your lap I’ll follow you everywhere or curl up for a nap on a chair or doggy bed. I’m well-behaved and rarely bark and if you don't notice me waiting by the door to go out and do my business, I am an expert using a potty pad. I was a stray dog in San Antonio in 2017 and wound up at the dog pound. I was adopted locally and lived a nice life until last month when my owner surrendered me back to the dog pound. I couldn't believe it, especially after I was a good and faithful boy for so many years, but I guess I should be grateful they didn't just put me out on the street or throw me out of a truck like many older dogs around here. The good news is, that I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little dog like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started again. Inquire about me today and bring me home!
* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
