My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peanut is ready to find his furrever family that can give him endless affection and appreciate this silly and sweet boy. Peanut may need a moment or two to warm up to people but once he is comfortable with you there is no escaping his boundless love!

**Peanut has a discounted adoption fee to help find him his furrever home! Please note that applicants are still required to follow our adoption process and meet the requirements of this pet in order to be approved to adopt**

~ Peanut is looking for an active family that will provide lots of activity, exercise, enrichment and training daily to set him up for success.
~ Peanut can be a little nervous and fearful with new people, in new situations or new environments. His new family will have to be patient with him and help him learn the world is not so scary.
~ This guy is looking for an adult only home due to his nervousness and need for learning some manners.
~ Peanut will need to be signed up for at least three in-person training sessions before he can go to his new home. He needs to work on his manners and socialization due to his nervousness, he would benefit from more training to continue this work and continue his basic training.

Regularly Exhibited Behaviours Noticed:
- High Energy
- Mouthy
- Jumpy
- Nervous/Shy
- Very Fearful/Nervous

Explanation of Behaviours:
- Peanut is a young and high energy dog that will need plenty of daily exercise, enrichment and training to set him up for success.
- Peanut can be fearful/nervous of new people especially in new situations/environments. His new family will need to work with him to slowly and properly help him feel more comfortable and confident with new things and introductions.

- Peanut is under-socialized, his new family will need to slowly and positively work on socializing him to the world around him.
- Peanut will need training on walking nicely on leash as he does not seem to have much for leash manners currently.

This dog would benefit from:
- An adult only home
- An active family
- Lots of training
- Lots of socializing

Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog:
- Basic training
- Basic manners - Jumping up, Mouthing
- Socializing
- Walking on leash/leash manners

Additional adoption info

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
