My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ronald Weasley is looking for his very special family! Ron has been working with his staff best friends and a behaviorist for a few months now on some anxiety, reactivity to strangers, and sensitivity to handling. Now we believe he’s ready to go to a home where his future family will continue his behavior management while understanding his quirks and challenges.
Ronald’s training has consisted of:
- Muzzle training
- Engage-disengage training
- Body handling
- Appropriate leash walking with a gentle leader
- Positive introductions to new people and dogs
Ron’s been learning with Pawsitive Directions. NAS will sponsor his first behavioral session after his adoption. This will help him to succeed in his new home. Additionally, several staff members who’ve been working closely with Ron would be willing to coach a potential adopter through some of Ron’s training to help ease his transition. Ronald LOVES stuffies and he plays very gently with his toys. He enjoys car rides, walks, and belly rubs or snuggles from his favorite people. He has enjoyed meeting and playing with other dogs but he tends to feed off their energy, for this reason we believe a calmer confident dog would be the best dog sibling for him. While in our care we’ve learned that when Ron is with his BFF, Clark, who loves meeting new people, Ron is less reactive to strangers and warms up to them much quicker.
Here’s what Ronald needs to best succeed in his new home:
- Fenced yard
- Physical fence due to territorial behaviors
- No young kids
- Continuation of his daily Apoquel and Fluoxetine medications
- Lots of stuffies!

More about this shelter

For more than 50 years the Neenah Animal Shelter has been there for all kinds of animals in all conditions. When they have nowhere else to go, they can come to us, and we will help them find a new start in life--another chance to be loved.

In 1958 we opened our doors to take in the first of these heartwarming creatures. Since then thousands of animals--from street smart cats and white-faced retrievers to newborn kittens and bouncing pups--have come through our doors needing food, warmth, medicine and a forever home.

Please continue to support our shelter through adoptions and donations. With your help we can be there for the loving, trusting animals that depend on us for years to come.
