My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eugene is a great big lovebug. He's a big boy with a big heart. He's the largest of his litter, and the one most likely to seek you out for attention and pets; he purrs like an engine when he's coiled up next to you. He's confident and outgoing, and will follow you around the house to see what you're up to. He likes to sit on top of the litter box while you're cleaning it to supervise your work. He'll play for hours until he tires himself out, including tussling with his little sister Alfie. He's particularly fond of his rattling mouse toys, and can often be seen running around the house with one in his mouth. He has a peculiar habit of growling at nothing and nobody in particular when he's playing with his mice; perhaps he's just reminding them who's boss. One of his favorite games is sitting on his foster dad's bed and having his favorite mouse toy thrown into the air so he can jump up and catch it. Eugene would prefer his foster dad did not have to leave the house for work, as it interrupts playing this game. He has an odd interest in screens, and will sit on the edge of the bed (or directly in front of the TV) curiously watching a movie with you.

Eugene is bonded with his little sister Alfie. The two can often be found alternating between cuddling, grooming and wrestling, and despite Alfie's small stature, she puts up a big fight with Eugene. This sweet pair is looking for their forever home together.

Additional adoption info

CCHS has animals available for adoption through a number of different avenues. Many of our kittens and all dogs are cared for in loving foster homes until they are adopted. Teenage, adult, senior and special-needs cats reside at Kitty Corner, an on-site, private cat shelter where cats are allowed to free-roam at all times, lounge in sunny windows and on comfy cat towers, and play to their heart's galore. Similarly, we also have animals available for adoption through our Re-Homing Assistance Program, where we help to advertise animals that caregivers are no longer able to keep.

If you are interested in meeting any of the animals listed on our website, please complete an adoption application unless otherwise noted!

Adoption fees are:
Kittens under 6mo: $130 ($200 for two)
Cats over 6mo: $90 ($150 for two)
Puppies under 6mo: $225
Dogs over 6mo: $175

Our business office and Kitty Corner are located at 3341 Vincent Road.

Kitty Corner houses adult, senior, and special-needs cats (sometimes teenage kittens). Kitty Corner is open for adoptions by appointment only with an approved application. Please submit an application for a cat you are interested in at www.cchumane.org/adoptable-cats.

All of our dogs, puppies and some kittens are located off-site in foster homes and can be met by appointment once adoption applications have been received and approved.
