My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh Henry!

Henry is a Scruffy wire hair terrier, maybe Border Terrier mix who is approximately 1 to 2 years old and currently weighs 10 pounds. We rescued him from the Weslaco shelter in south Texas near the border of Mexico.

Coming from the environment he was in previously, it is apparent that he wasn’t handled very much, so he just needs a few minutes to know that he is in a safe space. But all of that is behind him now. We are so happy that he is here with us and can’t wait to help him find a forever home that will show him nothing but kindness and love.

Henry is a sweet and tenderhearted boy. He does have a short warm-up period when meeting new people and is shy and timid at first. Once he knows you will be kind to him, he loves to get attention and affection.

He gets along well with the other dogs in his group. Henry would do best in a calm and patient home where he can get acclimated to his new surroundings and learn to trust.

He is a wonderful dog who just wants a family to call his own! He would be great in a home with another dog to teach him how to trust and acclimate to being in a loving family.

Henry is located in at our rescue in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Geneva, IL on October 12th with approved application!
