My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

HW Postiive-stage 3

Emmitt, an 8-year-old male fawn Doberman, is the epitome of sweetness and charm. Despite having somewhat limited eyesight, he navigates his surroundings with grace and joy, embodying a calm yet lively demeanor. Emmitt thrives in a low-key, relaxed environment without kids or dogs, preferring to be the recipient of all the affection.  However he is cat safe!

Eligible for the Seniors Owning Seniors (SOS) program, Emmitt is a perfect match for senior adopters aged 70+ with prior Doberman ownership experience. This program covers basic vetting costs.  Emmitt is also available to adopters of any age. His aloof personality has transformed into one that is now enjoying human affection, thanks to the time and patience of his foster family.

Emmitt requires a home with a yard and a physical fence to ensure his safety. He is full of personality and life, whether he's lounging on the couch with his head in your lap during Netflix marathons or strolling through the neighborhood on his daily walks. Emmitt's adoring gaze melts the hearts of everyone he meets, making him a truly special companion.

Are you looking for a special senior boy?  Emmitt is your guy!  Apply today at www.DUdobes.org

More about this rescue

We are an all-volunteer organization working to rescue dogs from abusive or neglectful situations as well as from shelters/pounds. We also accept dogs through Owner Surrender process, as space permits, when the owner is no longer able to care for the best interest of the dog. We provide necessary veterinary care while they are waiting to find their permanent home. We find adoptive homes through an adoption process which includes vet checks and home visits. We work to educate and promote the importance of spaying/neutering animals.
