My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes: Minosh is a curious adventurer with a playful spirit. Always ready to explore new nooks and crannies, she's also a professional batter of scrunched up receipts - she loves to play this game! With a knack for finding the sunniest spots in the house, she brings warmth and joy to her humans with just a lil touch of spicy to keep you on your toes!

What my friends at ACC say about me:

Minosh is shy but calm and was in the den looking out, poked her head out to sniff treats, and then ate treats in the den while enjoying gentle petting, leaning in for cheek rubbing. She could not be coaxed out while the assessor was present but did come out for treats after he had stepped away but then went back into her den when she was done eating.

Minosh tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately nervous or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.

A volunteer writes: Minosh isn't loving the Care Center and she's trying her best to navigate it. And just like any of us, her best looks different everyday. Minosh was brought to us because her person passed away and, with so many big changes, we know she needs some time to find her footing. Minosh likes to play it safe, so I often see her thinking strategy in her cubby. Minosh knows she has to find her forever family, but she's not completely sure on how to put herself out there. She'll come forward for sniffs and treats, but she might also retreat for a moment to gather her thoughts. She's a kitty who wants to carefully consider all perspectives, so she's looking for a patient family who can follow her lead when it comes to pets, cuddles, and playtime. After a few minutes together, Minosh nuzzled my hand and I felt a sense of accomplishment. I love making friends with kitties who feel a little unsure, but Minosh is a kitty who sometimes needs a little reset after meeting new friends. So, after a couple of pets, she returned to her cubby to dream about meeting you.
