Meet Bessie, the queen of cuddles and regalness! This 5-year-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix is back with us through no fault of her own. Her previous family faced some major life changes and had to relocate out of state, and were sadly unable to take her along.
If you choose to adopt Bessie, get ready to embrace a whole new level of interior decorating – dog hair chic! Bessie's fluffy coat adds a touch of glamour to every surface, whether you're ready for it or not. Bessie might not realize just how big she is, often trying to fit into spaces more suited for a lap dog(which in her head...she totally is). Prepare for some cozy and comical moments as she attempts to squeeze onto your favorite armchair or cuddle up on your lap!
Bessie is on the hunt for a family where she can share the couch with kids and maybe even another furry friend. Bessie’s ideal day includes cuddling up for a movie marathon or jumping in the car for an impromptu road trip. When it comes to other dogs, Bessie likes to remind everyone that she's the queen of the castle, but don't worry, she's got a heart of gold once the other dogs have acknowledged her royal status and accept that she is the one true queen ;) . She's used to having her sister Bella around but wouldn't mind ruling the roost solo with the right family. While she hasn't mingled with felines, Bessie might be persuaded to share her kingdom with cats with a proper introduction. As for kids, she's not quite sure about little babies but adores hugs from our 2-year-old human, earning herself plenty of ear scratches in return.
Despite her royal demeanor, Bessie is pretty lazy and prefers to cuddle on the couch, though she's always up for a game of fetch and absolutely adores toys! She's also a water enthusiast, happily laying in puddles and even taking a dip in a pond once. Bessie loves to hit the road! Once in the car, she's all about laying down for a cozy nap. She settles down quickly and often takes a nap, though she hasn't ventured beyond an hour-long ride. Bessie is adaptable – she's ready for an active lifestyle filled with adventures or a quieter routine with plenty of snuggle time. She loves going for walks and would be thrilled to hit the trails for a hike. On the leash, Bessie likes to take the lead and can be quite strong. With a bit of training and patience, she'll make a wonderful walking companion. Bessie adores meeting new people and charms them with her gentle demeanor. She's always up for making new friends and spreading joy wherever she goes. Overall, Bessie is content with a quiet lifestyle but enjoys outings and playtime when the mood strikes.
Bessie is like having a built-in neighborhood watch – she loves to announce every bird, noise, and passerby with her enthusiastic barks. If you're looking for peace and quiet in an apartment, Bessie might not be your best bet unless you're up for becoming the talk of the complex!
