Foster cat`s bio for their adoption profile: Elma, aka Yellma, is around one year old and full of personality. She was brought indoors by a kind community member in the spring of 2024 and then brought into the care of SCAT so she could have a health check and be spayed. We’re happy to report that since her spay she is a lot less spicy but still loves to yell to remind us that it’s her world and we’re just living in it! Elma is an athlete through and through, she loves flying around her room like a monkey and gets embarrassed when she misses a jump. She also loves affection though she doesn’t want everyone to know that. If she chooses you as a trusted person, she will curl up on your lap or chest and demand that you give her your undivided attention. She also recently learned that it’s okay to fall asleep on humans as long as they promise not to move a muscle. Elma would likely prefer a home without other cats or small children, but has been known to get along well with a large breed dog. She loves eating and especially loves tube treats from anyone trying to win her love and affection.

More about this rescue
Since 1996 SCAT Street Cat Rescue's prime focus has been feral cats because of the limited options available for them. TNR is a successful option instead of the traditional trap and kill. The majority of the cats rescued by SCAT, however, are socialized and available for adoption. As the city grows, so to does the need for our services. Adopt, Donate, Volunteer, TODAY!
