My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Odin was brought in by his previous owner on 6/29/2024.

At SDHS:
Odin has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Odin! We are helping him learn his "good dog" behaviors. We have learned that Odin is smart but he wants to take things slowly and wants lots of treats and positive reinforcement. Odin will do best with an experienced dog owner who will help him continue his training. We recommend that Odin live in a home without other dogs. Any kids in the home should be at least 12 years old, as he tends to protect his food and treats. He shouldn't be bothered while he is eating. He will need lots of protected outdoor space where he will probably want to spend much of his time before coming inside for sleeping, eating and loving. Odin is no fragile lapdog. He is a big energetic guy who is ready to become a good dog for adventures together with you. Want to finish Odin's good dog training and then enjoy the mighty fine dog he wants to be for you? More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
