My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jasper!

Hello, I’m Jasper—a handsome, strong, 5 year old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold. My foster mom says I’m the perfect guardian, always looking out for my loved ones with unwavering loyalty. While I can walk like a gentleman on a leash and rest quietly in my crate, I’m not your typical laid-back Great Pyrenees. I’ve got energy and strength to spare, which means I need a home that understands and appreciates the power and responsibility that comes with having a true guardian breed.

I’ve come a long way from my days as a skinny stray, thanks to the love and care I’ve received. Now, I’m strong, healthy, and ready to take on any challenge. Whether it’s running up five flights of stairs, jumping over rocks, or going on long walks, I’m always eager for a job to do. My protective instincts are fierce, especially when it comes to children. I’ll always keep a watchful eye on them and make sure they’re safe.

However, with my strength and protective nature, I need a family that’s experienced and ready to handle a dog with my level of power. I’m not super welcoming to strangers, so I need extra patience and understanding when meeting new people on the property. I’ve been working with a behaviorist to help with this, but it’s important that my forever family understands the potential challenges that come with having a guardian like me.

I’m great with the kids in my foster home, but because of my strength and energy, I wouldn’t recommend a home with lots of distractions like small children or a high volume of visitors unless there’s someone dedicated to being my handler. Because of my strong protective instincts, I’m not the best fit for a novice dog family.

Despite all of this, I’m just a kind soul in a giant body, and I can’t wait to settle into my perfect forever home. I’m dreaming of a family who will appreciate my bravery, give me the jobs I crave, and love me for the loyal guardian I am. If you’re looking for a powerful, devoted protector who will keep your family safe, I could be your perfect match.
