My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Don't let his goofy picture fool you--Toad is a handsome man who is shy but social once he gets to know you. He's looking for mostly outdoor digs where he can enjoy the sunshine while he provides top-quality mousing services, but he'll come out to say hi to you whenever you're around and may venture into the house once in a while! He is great with other cats and would love it if you took home a co-worker or two with him. Toad is one of the most charming working cats we've had here. Call or visit the Adoption Center and ask about our working cats!

More about this shelter

Asheville Humane Society is about hope, not heartache. As Buncombe County’s critical safety net since 1984, we are always here to save and protect every animal. We have mastered the art of saving lives within our walls and now we are going even further, helping our community’s pets and their people thrive together. We are going beyond a no-kill community to ensure that each animal has the quality of life they deserve – a life worth living.
