This is Kiley... She is a 2.5 year old, lovely, sweet and beautiful Yellow Lab at about 70ish lbs. She is in a new foster home now that she is healed from her ACL surgery and they say:
Kylie is doing AMAZING and is ready for adoption as she is all healed from surgery and ready to go!! She is such a happy girl with a strong lab tail. Kiley is great with all ages of people and loves every dog she sees. She’s a very beautiful girl and she’s a fast learner. With everyday we have had her, she is improving on pulling while going on walks. She now knows that she needs to be by my left side, on a four foot leash. She loves to sit for a treat, using either voice or hand command. She is eager to learn and will follow you around off leash, once familiar with you. Labradors are just amazing companions!!! Her recall is great and that’s a big one!! Our resident dog and her are best buds, they love to play and hang out, and she would love to have a friend like this at her new home too!
Kiley, is NOT a candidate for apartment living, so will need to go to a home where if she barks because her people left, won't be a problem, and she needs to have a fenced in yard. She gets along with other dogs, and does fine with kids. She had spent time with a 6 year old, and she had no issues whatsoever. She also lived with a cat that she was curious about at first but only in the sense of " hey... what’s that"? They coexisted just fine... hung out in the same room, sniffed each other, and even drank out of the same water bowl!
She does not mind the crate, except when left home. When her foster mom is home, she will occasionally sleep in it, but when her foster mom leaves, she coaxes her with a good treat, and gives her a little "love nudge" to go in. It is thought early on, that she is more attached to her people than her 4-legged friends, and if you are home more than not, THAT'S a PERFECT thing for Kiley!
If you would like to help GRRAND with her vet bills from her ACL surgery, please visit the critical care page on grrand.org. We will update on her recovery, and appreciate any help you can give!
If you would like to be considered for Kiley, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
