Last month, before MISS MAE came to our pound, she ran frightened for close to 2 weeks before surrendering herself to a young girl who was dedicated to catching her. We think she had been dumped. She came to us frightened and shy and we stressed that it would take A LOT of patience on the part of her adopter to give her time to settle in and get her trained. She has been returned to our pound by the person who adopted her because while she thought she had the patience, she decided she does not. Here's what we know and what a potential adopter needs to know. MISS MAE becomes very affectionate once she gets over her fear. She loves to sleep in bed with her person, BUT this should not be done until MISS MAE is trained. Will she like to be crated? Probably not, but if you want a trained dog, it begins with using a crate. When you leave the house, MISS MAE needs to be crated. MISS MAE is afraid of other dogs, she likes to play with and chase cats, and she likes kids. Don't be fooled by her pretty face. If you don't have patience to train, please don't apply to adopt MISS MAE because it will just set her up for failure again and she's already been failed twice.
