My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peek-a-Boo! Pongo is popping in to say hi and let you know he is searching for the perfect family. Pongo is pretty relaxed for a puppy, but still a playful ball of fun! Pongo loves spending time outside chasing his sister.

He loves chew toys and tennis balls. Pongo has really been showing his personality in his foster home and at events. He is definitely an instant best friend! What is not to love about this giant-headed love bug?! He loves to play and then snuggle up with his human. You’ll be lucky to add this fella to your family!

Pongo is currently fostered with some felines. He does like to chase them, but is VERY playful, and doesn’t try to harm them. This smart guy is crate trained and potty trained! Pongo is very treat motivated and smart, if you’re willing to put in the time training him we think he can learn anything! If you’re interested in adopting Pongo and getting to look at this sweet face everyday, fill out an application on our website https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ or find us on FB.

If you want to meet this dapper gent, get those apps in. He’s ready to meet you in the Algonquin area! Pongo will also be attending our community events. If you follow our FB you’ll see where he’ll be, maybe you can pop in and say hi.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We do thorough legal background checks and call all references, landlords etc. Do not leave anything blank or we cannot process your app.

2.

Interview

We discuss the adoption and at this time answer any questions applicants may have

3.

Approve Application

If all checked out we then send approvals via email and adopters then can reserve with a deposit or set up a meet in greet if applicable.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

We have a legally binding contract that must be signed before you can take your fur kid home.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is fairly simple as long as apps are filled out correctly and fully and all checks out. We do screen with a background check program and call vet references and personal references. If any of this is left blank we cannot and will not process applications. Meet and greets are set up after an applicant is approved. At that time if they wish to adopt then we have a legally binding contract that must be signed prior to taking pet home.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Meets are available with an approved application, then this is set up. We have adoption events twice a month in Illinois, Elgin area, and this is always advertised in advance on our fb page. We do not do open adoptions so if attending our events with intentions to adopt please have your application put in prior to each event. People are welcome always to come hold and meet some of the dogs and puppies :)
