My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sassafrass is a cat that likes to take on the world at her own pace. Previously an outdoor kitty she's an independent gal who needs a littel time to warm up. Once you earn her trust she enjoys sitting on your lap for pets and treats. She's what some might call a Cactus Cat, a little prickly at first meeting, but with time you can earn her love and trust. She is fully litter box trained and might like another feline friend at home to help her settle in. Sassafrass is looking for a quiet home who would be happy with an independent cat.

More about this shelter

The Austin Humane Society (AHS) offers comprehensive, humane, life-saving animal services, transforming the lives of animals and those who love them. Because we believe homeless animals deserve a chance to thrive in a loving environment, we offer innovative, nationally recognized programs that save the lives of thousands of dogs and cats each year. AHS’ approach to addressing animal homelessness encompasses both finding animals homes through adoption as well as preventing future homelessness through spay/neuter programs.
