My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Hog! I'm an cool dog with a heart full of playfulness and joy. I'm brave too, not a fan of backing down from a challenge. I'm friendly with everyone I meet, always wagging my tail in excitement. Loyalty? I've got it in spades. Once I've decided you're my human, I'll stick by your side through thick and thin. Adopting me means gaining a loyal, playful, and smart companion who'll bring endless joy and laughter to your life.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
