Penny is a sweet, loving 20 lb companion dog who loves to be with her person, go for car rides, walks, play with her soft plushy toys, give kisses, and get peanut butter treats. She is 5 years old and starting to slow down a little but still has energy. I rescued Penny from the animal shelter when she was 2 as a companion dog for my mother. After my mother passed away, I took Penny in. Up until then she had tolerated my cat when she came for visits, but over the course of the past 1 1/2 years, their relationship has declined, and they now do not get along at all. For both their safety, I need to find a good, loving home for Penny. She is hyper vigilant and will bark if she sees anything she views as invading her space - both at home and on walks. She will also bolt out any open door and run down the street. She would do very well in a home as the only pet and no small children. Children over 10 would be fine. She would do extremely well with a single or empty nesters.
