My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I`m Mace. I`m a young pup, full of energy and curiosity. I love to play and explore, it`s how I learn and grow. Sometimes, I might seem a bit distant, but don`t worry, it`s just me needing some time to sniff around and get to know my surroundings. I`m smart, you see, and I like to understand things before I dive in. Once I`ve had my little adventure, I`m all yours - friendly, sweet, and ready for a good cuddle. I`ve mastered the leash walk and I`m always eager to learn new tricks. I`m friendly with everyone I meet, but I have a special fondness for other dogs. We have such a blast together! Cats, however, aren`t my cup of tea. If you`re ready for a life filled with tail wags, wet-nosed kisses, and endless playtimes, I`m your guy!

More about this shelter

The Allegany County Animal Shelter serves as the municipal shelter for Allegany County and is located at 716 Furnace Street in Cumberland. For many years, the shelter served as the final destination for nearly 85% of the animals that entered it. In late 2010, a group of passionate citizens led the charge to change the nature of the shelter with a goal of doing as much as possible for every animal, every day. It was the first step on the journey to becoming A Shelter of Hope.
