My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Harriet!
Breed Guess: Chocolate Lab, Hound, maybe even some pitty. Not sure but she is so sweet who cares!
Age: 5-6 months
Weight: 25 lbs

Other Animals: Hariett LOVES other dogs and will play fearlessly with them no matter the size. She has not met any cats yet but we would be happy to do an introduction.
Kids: She is so good with children
House training: She is learning routine and quickly catching on. If you miss her signal she goes to a pee pad.
Exercise needs: She is high energy , she will require an active lifestyle. She is an amazing climber, hiking will be a simple sport for her, she will climb any rock or pile of anything when we walk near effortlessly.
What she's great at: Showing people how much she loves them, Learned to walk on leash very quickly, sleeping through the night, eating and playing tug. Fully understands "no" and taking ques from her foster siblings, she is very respectful of their space. Sits to put on leash, learning to give paw.
What she's working on: curbing her excitement and mouthiness when playing.,

Personality: Harriet is a goofy, happy, and lovable. She thrives on human attention and will follow you everywhere, she is not a fan of being left alone but does well in crate if needed.
Harriet's story: She was born on the island of St. Thomas and found with her 3 siblings.
Dream Home: She would love to have a canine sibling to play and snuggle with, but this is not a requirement she also does very well on her own with the right amount of toys. An active family who likes to take long walks or hikes. A family who has the patience for a new pup who is just learning life and manners. She is very eager to please, very smart, and quick learner.

More about this rescue

FOSTER-BASED

All of our dogs are housed in loving foster homes until their forever family finds them.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

To provide safe harbor, medical care and love for adoptable dogs that have been abused, abandoned and neglected until they are placed into loving, responsible permanent homes; to decrease the need for senseless destroying of dogs by educating the public about the benefits of spaying & neutering; to build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness; to promote respect for life, responsible pet ownership and to encourage the higher ideals of compassion towards animals and people through education and example.

OUR COMMITMENT

Prior to adoption, each dog is spayed or neutered, receives a comprehensive veterinary examination and appropriate tests and inoculations. We conduct a thorough screening of all potential adopters to ensure the best possible match between healthy dogs and adoptive homes. We make a lifetime commitment to all of our rescued dogs. Our mission does not end with adoption. We follow up with advice, support and appropriate resources to assure a successful integration of each dog into his or her new home.
