Apollo is a majestic one-year old male Cane Corso Mastiff mix who was surrendered by his owner to the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden on June 20, 2024 following an unfortunate bite incident with a family member. Apollo was placed on a mandatory 10-day quarantine when he entered our shelter.
Apollo has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a handsome face with dark brown eyes, a large muzzle, and large semi-erect ears.
His owner reported that Apollo was good with OLDER children and that he was good with other animals. Apollo is up-to-date on vaccinations and that he is housetrained.
These pictures of Apollo were taken on July 7, 2024 when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver had Apollo outdoors for a long walk around the HSOV grounds and graciously took a detour through our photo area for several pictures. It seemed at first that Apollo was a little leery of the paparazzi but it turned out that he had spotted one of our outdoor shelter mascot kitties nearby .. And he was WAY too interested in the kitty. We'd say that Apollo should not be in a home where he would have any potential contact with cats.
Apollo currently weighs 106 lbs and is extremely strong on a leash. He would need an experienced handler and someone with athletic abilities to match those of Apollo in order to give him the exercise/training he requires.
Apollo will be neutered before being adopted by his new family.
