My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bailey's story is one of resilience and hope. This gorgeous long-haired tabby was discovered by a kind resident at an apartment complex who noticed him rummaging through a dumpster for food.

Upon closer inspection, she was horrified to find a massive wound on his neck. Quick to act, she reached out to NCPAS for help. With a humane trap provided by our team, Bailey was safely captured within two days.

Bailey's wound told a heartbreaking story: he had an embedded collar in his neck. Likely, someone placed a collar on him as a kitten, only to lose or abandon him, and as Bailey grew, the collar did not. Despite the pain and hardship he endured, Bailey has shown incredible strength and a capacity for love.

It took some time to earn his trust, but with patience and care, Bailey now comes up for scratches and affection. His gentle spirit shines through, and he has a special fondness for other cats, making him an excellent companion for a multi-cat household.

Bailey is looking for a loving home where he can continue to heal and thrive. He needs a family who understands his past and can offer the patience and kindness he deserves. In return, Bailey promises to fill your home with love, purrs, and head bumps.

More about this rescue

We are a volunteer-run, 501(c)3 foster-based rescue, which means we do not have a central building. Our rescue registration number with the State of NY is RR131. For logistical reasons, all of our foster homes are in Lewis and Jefferson Counties. If there is an animal you are interested in meeting, we ask you to first fill out the adoption application, which can be found in the main menu. You do not need to live in Lewis or Jefferson county to adopt; we do adopt out of state (and to Canada as well!)
