My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

** Ramona is looking for a foster or forever home

Meet Ramona, a charismatic Domestic Short Hair cat with a striking gray and white coat. This spunky feline has a personality as unique as her appearance—she's a blend of adventurous and affectionate. Ramona delights in exploring her surroundings and can often be found perched on her favorite spot by the window, observing the world outside.

Initially cautious due to past experiences, Ramona has been on a journey of rediscovery at LAWS since August 2022. Once wary of humans, she has gradually grown more trusting and now enjoys gentle affection and interaction. However, she does have a few quirks: she can be a bit swipy if she feels threatened or overstimulated, and she tends to hiss when she needs her space. Additionally, Ramona isn’t fond of being picked up, preferring to stay on solid ground. Despite this, we believe Ramona can be an excellent companion; she just needs a patient caretaker willing to gain her trust.

With patience and understanding, Ramona is eager to find a forever home where she can continue to build on her progress. She thrives in calm environments and appreciates companionship from both feline and canine friends who respect her boundaries. Ramona is housetrained, moderately active, and enjoys moderate exercise. She is well-suited to an indoor lifestyle and would be a great fit for a loving household seeking a companion who enjoys both playtime and relaxed moments.

If you're looking for a cat with intelligence, a love for toys, and a heart ready to bond with a caring owner, Ramona could be the perfect addition to your family. Embrace the opportunity to give Ramona the stable, affectionate home she deserves, and watch her blossom into an even more loving companion.

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com**
