My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In early March, Furry Friends Network was asked to help TNR (trap – neuter/spay – release) about 45 cats from an abandoned farm in Cumberland County. Some have chosen to continue life on other farms but many have also displayed a willingness to be someone’s new furrever friend! Meet some of our Cosmic Colony Cats below! These cats are used to all animals, large and small, and are good with children. Come meet some of them at the Carlisle Petsmart too!

NOVA (Black Female) would like to go to a home with her BFF AURORA. NOVA is very playful and has an affinity for chase toys, given her early days on the farm. She displayed her willingness to find a fur-ever home by constantly rubbing up against the colony caretakers. Her slight overbite shows her adorable “fangs” when she looks up to you.

AURORA (Dilute Calico Female) would like to go to a home with her BFF NOVA. AURORA is a little spicier than her best friend, but also gentle. She warms up quickly to you and can be very playful. She displayed her willingness to find a fur-ever home by constantly rubbing up against the colony caretakers.

VENUS (Calico Female) would like to go to a home where she can be cuddled. She loves to play and enjoys being pet. She displayed her willingness to find a fur-ever home by constantly rubbing up against the colony caretakers and being one of the first to “greet” them each day.

ASTRO (Black and white Male) would like to go to a home where he can be encouraged to be curious! He enjoys being held, loves to be pet and enjoys playtime very much! His adorable “mole” helped him stand out among the other cats. He displayed his willingness to find a fur-ever home by being one of the first to “greet” colony caretakers when they came to visit.

SATURN (Tiger Female) would like to go to a home where she can be cuddled first, and then play. She enjoys being held, and displayed her willingness to find a fur-ever home by jumping into our colony caretakers’ arms on the first day of colony assessment. As part of the Cosmic Colony cats, you’ll notice she is not TNR tipped. This is because she was the very first cat rescued from the hoarding situation. This little girl has a great temperament and is waiting to be your best friend!

JUNO (Brown Tiger Male) would like to go to a home where he can relax. Our most “chill” colony cat so far, he enjoys being held, loves to be pet and enjoys playtime! This cool cat displayed his willingness to find a fur-ever home by being one of the first to “greet” colony caretakers when they came to visit.

APOLLO (Dilute Tabby Male) would like to go to a home where he can be encouraged to play. He needs a high energy household because this cat Does. Not. Stop! It takes a lot to tucker him out, and he’d do well with another friend in the house to play with. He has not yet met a toy he doesn’t love.

CASSEOPIA (Black and white Female) with the adorable heart on her nose, would like to go to a home that has a laser pointer! This super friendly girl also loves to give licks. It’s possible she would love to have a home with another pet in it, because she has a lot of love to give! She enjoys being held.

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, treated with flea preventative, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

If you are interested in adopting a cat(s), we ask that you complete an on-line adoption application to get the process started. To apply, simply go to www.furryfriendsnetwork.com / Adopt a Furry Friend / Adoption Application. You will receive a welcome email once your application has been assigned to a volunteer processor (this should be within 72 hours of submitting an application). If you do not receive such an email, contact catapplication@furryfriendsnetwork.com. Once your application has been processed (this can take approx. 10-14 days), we will arrange contact with the foster to schedule a time to meet cats you might be interested in. We are an all-volunteer organization and appreciate your patience during this process.

Foster Homes are needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. Check out our website on how to become a Foster Parent! Visit www.furryfriendsnetwork.com and look under Foster a Furry Friend. Furry Friends Network provides our foster homes with food, litter, crates/carriers as needed and miscellaneous other supplies as well as veterinary care.

More about this rescue

Furry Friends Network is a non profit, all-volunteer animal adoption organization. Our philosophy is to help those animals that did not ask to be born, that are often the result of human ignorance. Any animal, no matter its age, can offer love and companionship to the right person.

Furry Friends Network is not a shelter, but instead uses a foster home network to house the animals until permanent, indoor homes can be found, offering second chances at lifetimes of love and happiness. Furry Friends Network also works to help humans understand the importance of controlling the pet population through spaying and neutering.

Furry Friends Network relies on private and corporate donations to help fund our rescue operations and accomplish our mission - to save lives, one animal at a time. Since the organization's inception in 2001, Furry Friends Network has facilitated the rescue, and rehabilitation and placement of approximately 300 homeless dogs and cats into new homes each year. With your support, we can continue to accomplish this mission.

There are many thousands of animal rescue organizations, all working for the same purpose. We hope through our efforts, we will make at least a small difference, and save a few lives in the process.
