Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
House training: House trained, but not completely trusted to roam alone.
Behaviors: Very energetic and playful. She gets excited when she sees kids or dog people. She spends most workdays in our business and enjoys attention from many people.
She wears a behavior correction collar (beep) to stop her from jumping, digging, barking, or chewing. She even responds to the beeping when she’s not wearing it.
Digs at the carpets, chews stuff, shreds paper if she finds it. Above mentioned collar beep stops her.
Leash/Exercise: loves being outside. Walks 1/2 mile or more most days. Have been instructed not to be too rigorous with her heart murmur. She uses a harness or a regular collar.
Cats: Wants to chase and play with the cat but the cat runs away.
Other dogs: Dogs must show patience. She annoys other dogs at the groomers with her desire to play. Foster’s German Shepherd (outside dog) is very patient with her, and she thinks they would be good buddies if she left them together long enough.
Children: excited. Behavior correction used when she jumps on kids.
Adults: She spends most workdays in our business and enjoys attention from many people. Would rather sit next to you, and not cuddle up. Likes to be pet and have ear scratches.
Sleeping: sleeps in her kennel with potty pad outside that she does use at night.
Great things about Pinot Noir: excited and loving. Curious and funny. Would rather sit next to you, and not cuddle up. Likes to be pet and have ear scratches. Loves toys.
Medical/Vetting:
Completed but this puppy will have ongoing medical needs the rest of her life. Grade 5/6 heart murmur. Needs medication 2x per day and 6–12-month echocardiogram rechecks.
Approximate monthly cost of meds is $60
Approximate cost of cardio visit with echo to monitor heart murmur is $400-800 per visit with specialist depending on how often vet feels condition should be monitored.
Grooming needs: she needs groomed every 3-6 weeks to control matting and hair ear. Does not like baths at home, so we try to be quick. 1 bath a week or more if needed.
Containment: Goes in easily for her treat. Crated with potty pads outside when we are not home, and non-office days.

The first step is completing an application. Once approved you will be put on a waiting list and contacted when a dog matching your requests becomes available. We first offer the dog for adoption to their foster family, then to approved applicants on file, and lastly to the public through online listings.
We require an application with a veterinary and three personal references. If you do not currently have a veterinarian because you do not currently own a pet, we will contact your personal references in place of a vet reference.
After you're matched with a dog, you complete our contract, and submit the appropriate adoption donation:
• HavaHeart Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 charity and 100% of money raised is spent on the pups we serve.
• All HavaHeart adoptable dogs are up to date on vaccinations, parasite free, have been spayed / neutered, and microchipped.
