My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I'm a super fun girl with a happy zest for life and love in my new home! I'm an active girl, although please know I am recovering from patella surgery (and doing great!), so let's take things slow for now. As I get up to speed over the next months, I can't wait  for engaging walks in the neighborhood, adventures in the park or maybe even the beach sound great to me! Add in some cool toys to enjoy, and in time let's toss some balls and see if I retrieve (I'll keep you guessing)! Of course, belly rubs and snuggles are without a doubt a must for me, so let's get started on our joy ride through life now!

* Have valid state-issued identification.
* Allowed to have a pet where you live. (To protect you and your pet, get your landlord's or HOA's permission in writing before you adopt).
* Willing and able to provide training, medical attention, and proper care for your new pet.

ADOPTION PROCESS

Berkeley Humane believes in an adoption process that carefully matches the lifestyle and expectations of adopters with the needs of each animal. This helps pets remain in their new homes for the rest of their lives.

Our staff will ask potential adopters about their lifestyle, household, and what they're looking for, in order to suggest appropriate pets or determine a specific animal's suitability.

All of our animals receive medical and behavior evaluations, vaccines, microchip, spay or neuter, felv/fit test for cats (at the discretion of the veterinarian), heartworm preventative, flea and tick preventative, and worm treatment.

Our adoption package also includes pre-adoption counseling, a take-home adoption packet, temporary collar, ID tag, temporary leash or carrier, free post-adoption resources and advice, $250 worth of medical care with VCA veterinary hospitals, a certificate for a free examination at a local veterinary hospital, and discounted pet insurance offer.
