My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Semaj-James spelled backward, because this boy is all about turning the ordinary into something extraordinary. andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Semaj is the perfect mix of distinguished and goofy. At 75 pounds (and possibly still growing), heandamp;#39;s a big, handsome guy with a heart full of love and a playful spirit that can brighten anyoneandamp;#39;s day. This energetic young pup has been waiting patiently at the shelter since July, hoping for someone to see him for the amazing dog he is.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Semaj loves people and plays wonderfully with other dogs, though his enthusiastic playstyle might be a bit much for smaller pups. Heandamp;#39;s super smart-he already knows how to sit and walks well on a leash-and he adores toys. In fact, he loves carrying them around like treasures, making him endlessly entertaining.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;In his kennel, Semaj can seem a little intimidating, and he thinks itandamp;#39;s funny to give a good bark to people walking by. But deep down, thatandamp;#39;s just his way of masking a fear many shelter dogs know all too well: that no one will pick him. When you take the time to meet him, youandamp;#39;ll find a boy full of love, potential, and a longing to be part of a family.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Semaj is a one-in-a-million kind of dog who simply blends into the crowd. But trust us-if you give him a chance, heandamp;#39;ll stand out in your heart forever. Heandamp;#39;s young, active, and ready to fill your life with fun, laughter, and unconditional love.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Please, donandamp;#39;t let Semaj spend another day wondering if heandamp;#39;ll ever find his person. Heandamp;#39;s ready to be the best companion you could ever ask for. Come meet him, and let him change your life.

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

With hundreds of pets at the shelter and in foster, we recommend checking our website before visiting in person.

2.

Meet the Pet

We recommend bringing the whole family, including resident dogs, to meet the pet you're interested in adopting to ensure it's a good match.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption team will review the adoption contract with you. Adoption fees are $30 for dogs and $5 for cats unless during a special promo.

Additional adoption info

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person. As a high-intake shelter, most of the pets that come to us are strays, meaning we have limited background history on the pet, such as health, behavioral or living history. All adoptions include the animal's spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license. All adoptions include a 7 day free trial with our training partner, GoodPup to help ease the transition!
