My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Behaviors-

Cats: not tested

Other dogs: Great, loves playing with current foster’s dogs

Children: not tested, but she is submissive and once her confidence grows, I think she would enjoy children

Adults: Timid, strong fear of men, responds better to women

Potty Training Progress: she is still working on it but mostly goes outside, or on pee pads. Has had a few accidents.

Crate Trained: Fully crate trained!

Leash Trained: Not leash trained (this is too traumatic for her still), she REQUIRES a fenced yard.

Other behavioral info: Quincy enjoys her food and toys so much! She loves a good chew bone. She loves running in the yard with my other dogs. Quincy needs a committed home that can continue to help her build confidence. She is a high flight risk. She must have a secure, fenced yard. She cannot walk on a leash as she freaks out and will try to get out of it and run away. She has not responded well to any men, she will howl and run away from them. Quincy’s ideal home is a home that has a lot of patience and experience with rescue dogs and will continue to help her grow into her confidence.

Great things about Quincy: Quincy is an extremely sweet dog; she is just still recovering from a lot of trauma and trust issues. She will be an excellent companion once her confidence grows. She has the softest fur ever and will gently take a treat out of your hand.

Additional adoption info

The first step is completing an application. Once approved you will be put on a waiting list and contacted when a dog matching your requests becomes available. We first offer the dog for adoption to their foster family, then to approved applicants on file, and lastly to the public through online listings.

We require an application with a veterinary and three personal references. If you do not currently have a veterinarian because you do not currently own a pet, we will contact your personal references in place of a vet reference.

After you're matched with a dog, you complete our contract, and submit the appropriate adoption donation:

• HavaHeart Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 charity and 100% of money raised is spent on the pups we serve.
• All HavaHeart adoptable dogs are up to date on vaccinations, parasite free, have been spayed / neutered, and microchipped.

Go meet their pets

Meetings are available by appointment only. We do not have a shelter, pets are housed in private foster homes in order to learn how to be a beloved family member.
