Malarkey is seriously a handsome regal hound dog- he holds himself with an air of love and calm. He's the type of dog that makes a space better just by being there- he has that Life is Good vibe going on. An adult, Malarky weighs about 58 lbs full grown and is fully a goofball living up to his name day in and day out. He is active and likes to be on the move and exploring so an active family would be great! He enjoys other dogs but will look past them and look into your eyes with a knowing look that everything is going to be alright. If a gorgeous hound dog is what your looking for - fill out an application and make your appointment to see Malarkey, he is quite a boy!!
**Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "He showed typical hound behavior and often wanted to go off trail to follow his nose. He likely do well with a runner. He was fine with other dogs and very confident, he seemed to have a calming effect on some of the young dogs in the group when they walked near him versus near the back of the group away from him. He was gentle with people and took treats easily".
*Weekend Host feedback: " Malarkey is a very sweet and gentle dog who would be a great addition to a family that spends time outside. He is excellent in the car, had no accidents and was perfect going in his crate when necessary. He never barked once! He got along well with our 7yo large dog with no issue".

The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
