My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: North
Age/Sex: Dec 2023/F (Will be spayed by rescue)
Breed: Husky x GSD as per previous O
Weight: ~45lbs
Medical Needs: Rear toe amputated due to infection. Doing great! Does not affect ability or function.
Good with: Dogs! Kids! Dog savvy cats with training!
NO DOG PARKS

It's time! North is now ready to find her forever home! This fun, fiesty sweetheart is ready to take over the world, and she hopes you'll come along for the ride! She's definitely more husky in size and personality, than shepherd, but she's a whole lot of fun!

North is very active, and looking for a home that's going to keep up with her. She loves to use her nose, and has strong chase and prey drive. She also loves to pull, and would love a home that will get her involved in Canicross, Joring, or even Sledding! She's super social, outgoing, and very environmentally sound. She's never met a stranger, and she would love a home with another canine companion to wrestle with (though not required)! I do believe she could live successfully with dog savvy cats, with proper training. But cats outside the home are going to be fair game. True to her husky ways, she loves to climb, and scale anything and everything, so a proper secure yard is a must!

North arrived in great shape, but unfortunately had a freak accident in the yard zooming around and got a stick poke in her foot. The initial antibiotics didn't work, and she ended up having a resistant form of bacteria that unfortunately persisted, and we ended up losing the whole toe. It has been amputated, she has successfully healed, and it does not slow her down in any way, shape or form! It is the outside toe on her back left foot. It just means you now have one less nail to trim ;-) She's still capable of performing any and all sport type functions, so please don't let this dissuade you from considering this fabulous girl! She truly makes friends wherever she goes, and it's going to make the right family very happy! If she sounds like the right dog for your home, please get your application in today!
