My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Brothers, Smokey and Bandit!

We both love to be loved and will snuggle our people all day long if they let us. We would love a home with someone who likes physical touch as much as we do. We are masters at sleep piles. We are both great travelers even for long car rides. We are great with kids. We're ok around chickens that are contained. No cats please. We were shop dogs at our previous foster home and greeted all guests with wagging tails. Sometimes we got into the delivery trucks for biscuits. We both love to learn and please our people. We know sit and are fine tuning our stay. Both of us are really smart and trainable. We are go anywhere and do anything dogs and good on and off leash. We've been in restaurants with good manners. We are were kept with a pack of 5 other dogs inside and outside. We should be fed with a maze bowl or we inhale it and forget to breathe.

Smokey: I am very attentive and communicate a lot with my eyes while sitting and watching. I am slow to react and like to survey my surroundings. I take food from hands with care. I like to wrestle with my catahoula foster brother. I get along with other dogs both male and female, big and small. I hardly even notice chickens, and horses are cool too. I really love to sleep next to my people.

Bandit: I am a little smaller and goofier than my brother but I will give you my attention if you ask for it. I am also a little more adventurous and can rock hop and hike unknown trails with good problem solving and no anxiety. I kennel easily because it feels safe. I have been getting better and better at gently taking food. My foster parents think I was the runt and had to eat quickly or miss out. I get along with other dogs both male and female, big and small.

More about this rescue

Fresno Bully Rescue (FBR) is a volunteer-based, non-profit, no-kill rescue and shelter dedicated to rescuing bully breed dogs (i.e. American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, American Bull Dogs, Bull Terriers, etc.). We are here to provide a healthy and loving temporary home while we look for forever homes for our shelter dogs. We are one of the only breed-specific, no-kill rescues with an actual kennel-facility in California. We house over 45 adult dogs at our facility (with many more puppies and adults in foster homes). Our pet adoption program and support is tailored to help find you the best match for your family and start it off right! We are a 501 (c) (3) public charity and all donations are tax deductible.
